Built on the tools, not in a boardroom

Hard Hat Way is not a tech company that decided to build for construction. It is a bricklayer who decided to build for his own. Stu Crompton has 22 years on the trowel, 1.6 million people watching him lay bricks properly, and a platform he wrote himself in 139 days.

Meet the founder

22 years on the trowel. No investors. No boardroom.

Stu Crompton is a bricklayer from Wigan with 1.6 million followers who watch him lay bricks properly. He paid the directories, got nothing back, and taught himself to code. Hard Hat Way went live on the App Store after 114 days and on Android 25 days later: 139 consecutive days, between shifts.

“Every app aimed at tradespeople was built by people who had never mixed a bucket of muck or laid a course in the rain. It showed.”

The journey

From first line of code to both stores

  1. November 2025

    Development starts

With no coding background, Stu starts building Hard Hat Way in Swift. Every line written between shifts on site.

  2. 2 March 2026

    Live on the App Store

114 consecutive days from the first line of code to the App Store. One person. No investors, no team.

  3. 3 April 2026

    Live on Google Play

Android followed 25 days later. 139 days to both stores.

  4. Now

    Growing the community

Customers post jobs, trades quote on them, and the feed, the Cabin and the competitions keep the standard high.

What we believe

Pride and quality over speed and greed

The person who built your house, your school, your hospital deserves a platform built with the same care they put into their work.

A tradesperson's reputation should rest on the quality of their craft, not on who shouts loudest or games an algorithm. That is why SiteCred is earned from other trades on real jobs, and cannot be bought.

Pride in your work is not old-fashioned. It is everything.
